INPEX Ichthys Subsea Anode Skids
LNG producer INPEX engaged ICON Engineering to design, fabricate and test five subsea anode skids to protect subsea assets during the Ichthys Phase 2 Drilling Campaign.
INPEX required a quick and efficient solution that could be incorporated into the current drilling campaign utilising the rig or installation vessels already in the field.
Complete Package
ICON leveraged its extensive design, fabrication and installation experience to provide a complete service.
The skids were designed and fabricated to be installed and retrieved from a rig/construction support vessel or an anchor handler vessel, thus providing flexible installation options to the client. The skid itself was designed with angular side and padeye arrangements to allow for flexible installation methods.
Factory Acceptance Testing
The clamp design was modified to allow retrofitting to a range of attachment points on the subsea assets.
ICON developed testing and commissioning procedures to ensure the performance of the clamps and skids could be validated prior to loadout.
ICON also provided detailed operation and installation manuals.
Key aspects:
