HWU Support
Hydraulic Workover Units (HWU) are typically used on fixed platforms to facilitate workover operations. Whilst workover campaigns may be infrequently carried out, when the equipment is used it must function without issue.
ICON has been contracted on multiple occasions to complete repairs, upgrades or improvements on various HWUs including gin pole overhauls and access platform rebuilds.
ICON has completed structural assessments including complete re-analysis and re-certification for increased wind speeds anticipated during cyclonic conditions and provided safety improvements by eliminating work at height tasks by designing a remotely operable pin locking device on a gin pole.
